Fridays with MJ

So mom and dad decided to provide me with a new wardrobe... apparently there were some clothing items mommy has really wanted to see me in, but until recently I was to small too wear them. As you can tell I have been working out a lot. My "saucer" can hardly contain my Jedi and ninja moves.

After daddy gave me a bath the other night a mystery drawer was opened and a Pandora's box was unleashed upon my nursery. I used to have free reign of my legs and feet, but alas, they have reintroduced me to "sleepers." I, at one time, wore these blasted things, and now they are back in my life.

Curse you Carter's!

So, this weekend is supposed to be a little more laid back than that of weekends past. Mom and dad have decided to stay put a little more and enjoy the last week of summer down-time.

I, myself, will enjoy the non-stop attention. I do enjoy my raspberry's and haven't been able to show them off in a couple of days... so hilarity will ensue. Dad always laughs with me... or is it at me? I am not quite sure, but I like to make him happy. Of course, I will also get to spend quality time with momma... although this rolling over thing she likes to see me do... I don't like it, but I know in the long run it is important, so I will play along!

So, everyone enjoy your weekend... I will be here, with a big smile on wearing alligators or are they crocodiles? That I don't know, but I know they are on my belly!

Nonetheless, have a nice weekend!

Friday's with M.J.

So here it is, Friday, yet again, and we are on the edge of the 4th of July weekend.

Next weekend will mark the beginnings of July... it is a very special weekend... my
mommy and daddy keep saying. I don't know why though... something about "it was the day when everything changed?" Or something like that, I dunno... anyway, where was I? Oh! Yes, where has my summer gone? Where has it gone, I ask?

My
mommy will not have much longer, with me at home, before she has to go back to work. Poo, poo on work. I poo on it, I say. Phewy!

My
Uncle Charles has come home now from California and I know cousin Drew is really excited about that. Welcome back Uncle Charles!

The weekends are always full of fun things for me to do with mom and
dad. This weekend is no different... I get to go to my cousin Grant's second birthday party on Saturday! Apparently, he too, is a huge Sesame Street fan! We have sort of bonded on our love of Elmo. Cousin Grant is a cool dude.

Mommy and Daddy have decided to go on what they call a "date night?" Not sure what this consists of, but they asked Nana to come stay with me on Saturday night. I think Papa might come too, but we'll see. I hear talk about seeing Robots... sounds like something I would enjoy watching. I do enjoy a good action flick, but cest la vie'. Let them have their fun... I will be busy enjoying my Disney Sing-a-long from the Animal Kingdom. Those kids act so silly, but it's my guilty pleasure.

Well, I hope everyone enjoys their upcoming weekend festivities! Don't do anything I wouldn't approve of!!!!

Bye!

Oh.... It's Friday!

Isn’t it a nice day today? Oh, and why would it not be? The sun-is-a-shinin’.. well, it is here where we are.

I would say I was glad, it’s Friday, even if it were raining, there were cloudy skies, pasha, it doesn’t matter because today… is… Friday! Friday, I say!

It is the beginning of what will probably be a pretty event-filled weekend!

First of all, it will be my daddy’s first Father’s Day. Mommy and I got him the coolest gift, but he doesn’t know what it is because we hid it from him…

Secondly, I am hitting a milestone, well sorta! I mean it's quite a milestone. Mommy and Daddy keep telling people about it. I will be turning three months old on Sunday… They seem pretty stoked about it.

Well, don’t do anything I wouldn’t be proud of… behave yourselves. Happy early Father’s Day to all you dads out there, and more importantly, happy Friday!

It's Friday and there's a dog on my shirt!

Hey Everybody! It's Mauldin again...

I thought I would help daddy out and guest post today... why?

It's Friday and I wanted to wish you all a safe and wonderful weekend full of spontaneity and fun!

I know I will certainly have a good time because when you start out a weekend wearing a dog on your shirt you know things can always get better!

Comon', what can I say... I haven't experienced that much... I'm 11 weeks old, but I expect a joyous weekend! I expect to eat, sleep... maybe poop and pee a little... I always enjoy my tv shows and dvds... all of which can be found on my Amazon.com wish list, if you were wondering...

I digress...

Cheers!

Tag- I guess I'm it!?

Well, today, thankfully I am not too busy, but for today I'm going with a tag that Ron over at CK’s Lunchbox hit me up with. Of course, it always follows with “the no obligation” to follow, but if I don’t what does that make me.. yes, a stick in the mud. These are the oh-so-ever important rules of the game…

1.go to your documents ( or picture file)

2. go to your 6th file.

3.go to your 6th picture.

4. blog about it.

5. tag 6 friends to do the same.

This is what I found…

It is a picture of my wife and I this summer (June 7th to be exact) right after we got married on our way in to our reception…

What a day that was, and honestly, feels like we have been married a lot longer than, what is it now, seven months!

What can I say, I love my life, my wife and couldn’t be more ecstatic about our little man-child on the way, due in March.

Now, the trick is selecting six people.

1. Postulates & Pastimes

2. Snotty Mom

3. Us and Them

4. Wrapped around her finger

5. Expanding Belly

6. A Married Single Mom

Halloween is upon us...

Halloween is almost here… the night of All Hallows Eve...this weekend, infact, and I am so excited!

And, this year it lands on a FRIDAY!

Laura’s cousin, Jeremy, and brother-in-law, Paul, are taking off Friday to get ready for our Halloween Fright Fest that evening.

I wish I could!!!! But, alas, I will be at work all day... I am meeting Laura over at Jeremy and Tori's where I will change and we will all have dinner before we scare the witts outta the lil' kiddies. However, this year we will try and be more dilligent about running children into the street! LOL! Okay, I know that isn't funny, but to see their faces when they run away in fright... warms my heart! HAHAHA Okay, that sounded a little off balance didn't it...?

This will be the 4th year we have gotten together, ever since I have been dating Laura, in 2005, to scare the neighborhood kids before they could get to the door to receive their Halloween treat from one of the girls: Laura, my wife; Tori (Jeremy’s wife); Britton (Jeremy’s sister) or Jenn (my sister-in-law and Paul’s wife). This year Amy, Laura’s, eldest sister, has been pulled into the mix! She has agreed to walk around the premises wearing her scary zombie garb. I, am as always, a werewolf; Jeremy, Michael Myers, Paul the Zombie Vampire; Laura is the good witch instead of lil' Red b/c this year she doesn't fit into her lil' Red costume... Baby Skates has caused her to make a switch to a Witch! Britton, Jeremy's sister, and her fiance’, Chris, are scheduled to come and take part in the festivities as well but that is all dependent on their flight in from NJ.

Every year the group grows... however, last year Paul couldn't make it b/c he was sick so I'm sure he will make up for it this year!

Lets hope they can make it!

I will be sure to post a detailed blog of the evening!!!

Muwhahahahahaha! -

Cupcakes & Nausea

This past Friday we did not think we had a lot going on, but Laura and I seem to always find ourselves with something to do. Honestly, Friday was a kind of laid-back day and didn’t have a ton of stuff to do at work, so I came home pretty excited about the events that were about to unfold before us. After we surprised Laura’s mom with her “possible” birthday present (I will discuss this at a later date) we called Terri, our friend I met a couple of summer’s ago in Dr. Gao’s Maymester class at KSU. Let me set up Terri in my story. She is quite a character and I think that is why we love her so much. She is not only a wonderful friend, but she is so much fun, very nice and loves two things... movies & cupcakes. We called Terri to come over and hang out and she was unsure about this because it was so last minute.
Side note: Unfortunately, I left my cell phone at home on Friday, making me feel “impotent and out-of-control!”

(10 points if you can guess what movie this is from!)

To make a very long story short, I had about six voice mails on my phone when I finally got home at 5pm, and as you may have guessed, one was from Terri. She was curious as to if we were busy and wanted to know if we wanted to hang out. Hence, me calling her and asking her to come play with us! She was hesitant because, because it was already 6:30pm!

“Come on Terri, it’ll be fun!” I said.

“Oh, I don’t know, I was gonna make some cupcakes.”

“Okay great! Come over and make them here!”

Terri, agreed, but very hesitant because I have a feeling she doesn’t like giving her secret recipes out! So, fast forward, Terri comes over at about 7:45 PM and we begin the process of cup cake making. Laura, starting feeling nauseated for some odd reason, oh yeah, she’s pregnant!

“I think I am gonna go lay down,” said Laura. “I don’t feel good.”

Laura lays down on the couch and watches the time delayed opening ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics. Laura loves watching the Olympics. Who knew?!

So, as Terri cracks eggs and pours milk and I show her where the bowls are to do all of the fun things it takes to make perfect cupcakes. This is the extent of my cooking and/or culinary abilities!

After they came out of the oven, looking perfect I might add... I ate a couple to test and make sure they were okay for others to consume. Oh, they were good... trust me... I ate a total of probably eight when all was said and done.

Although, I did a pretty good job at applying said sprinkles. Laura and I may have spinkles in the cracks of our kitchen table for about the next 30 years. Hint: Don't buy party favors that can get stunk in between couch cusions. You may find them many, many years from when you first used them. But, that is a story for another day.

To make a long story short, the cup cakes came out perfect and tasting ever-so scrumptious.

Now, if you need to take a breather because this BLOG is so freakin' exciting I will totally understand. LOL! Until next time... enjoy your week.
