No, not because of the countless evidence of pictures from ultrasounds... I mean either it is alittle baby or an alien is truly growing in my wife's womb, curled up so nicely next to her placenta. Okay, I am not even sure what a placenta is for, but for some reason, on Saturday, when we went for our 3D/4D ultrasound that sac was in the way of almost every picture! The boy really thinks it is a huge pillow for him to rest on. Who knows... maybe it is really comfortable?
Last night, my beautiful wife, Laura, and I were in the bed, after watching Heroes, and I decided to read to our little unborn boy. We have a pretty good collection of children’s books in the nursery, so I took it upon myself to go fetch one and see how he would react to the voice of his father, that being me of course. What better to start your son off with than, Harry Potter, well okay, we tried that once and never got a huge response, so this time I utilized a tried and true favorite, Dr. Seuss, “Green Eggs and Ham.” I never really knew how long it was until I read it last night…
I am surprised 'Sam I am' was so persistent, I would of given up after the second, “I do not like Green Eggs and Ham!” I mean obviously he is a very picky eater. (reminds me of someone I know...)
But, he will not eat them in the rain, on a train, with a mouse or in a house. Maybe he would eat them on the couch?

The pics are so great you can see already that he looks like Everett. Although he is not like you he does not want his pic taken since he has his hand over his face. Dont worry the kicks will get harder and happen much more often. Like Tom said mabey another ball player. Everett is excited to see yall this week along with the dogs.

Keeping reading and singing to the little guy. It's tough for Dads to form that bond that comes so natural to Mom (seeing as they're the oven and all), so this is definitely one way to do it. And they say the baby can recognize your voice after a while.
One thing we did was go to 'We Will Rock You' (the Queen musical) about a month before our daughter arrived — my wife said she danced the whole show!
David Beckham in Laura's tummy- that's the best!
That part about, "...never knew how long it was..."
Man, as you'll find, there are times when your kids want you to read to them, and it's like, the last thing in the world you feel like doing. So, you pick a really short book only to have them say, "No Daddy! Get the National Geographic Big Book of Animal Facts," and you'll be stuck there all night.
But...the 3D pics are cool. Makes it look like someone Bronzed your baby! HA!
Just wait - kicks will seem like nothing when you can see a foot or hand sticking out like THIS (link)
Great blog - sort of fun to read from an 'ol timer like me... Watching first time parents!!
I'll be back for more.. Until then - good luck!!
I just read Green Eggs and Ham to my toddler for the first time last weekend. He was mesmerized by the rhyming rhythm of Dr. Seuss and I was amazed that he allowed me to read him a new book.
The story is even more comical once you have a toddler and you realize that you are Sam I Am. Most of your conversations will revolve around "will you eat your dinner in your chair, will you eat in the car, will you eat at a bar, will you eat with the dog, will you eat with a frog, WILL YOU PLEASE EAT SOMETHING ALREADY, I'M BEGGING YOU."
Enjoy these precious moments, but know there are plenty more to come!
Wow, those are amazing ultrasound picutures! We had 3D done and thought it was great, but those...
Handsome little guy already!
I FINALLY got here to do some catch-up and I see I totally missed the newest baby pix! I can't believe that happened!!!
Anyways - just gotta say that I think your little bambino looks like his Daddy!!!
As for liking Green Eggs and Ham - perhaps he hated it and that's why he did the major kick.....the same with your singing. LOL!!! Billie
Well, that's comforting!
